Reaching Our Community by Loving Them Well
We could plan a thousand community outreach programs that wouldn't have the lasting impact of the relationship that you build with a person based on the love of Christ. While we believe in serving our community in very practical ways, and do so whenever possible, our primary strategy for sharing the Good News of Jesus is through relational evangelism. This "as you go" mentality means that you share the love of God by loving people well, as Christ loves them, and building relationships that count for more than just getting a person in church. We know this to be the hard road, it is more difficult and requires more sacrifice to pour into a person's life than to knock on their door and invite them to church, but we believe this to be the call of Christ to every believer.
So when Northshore goes out into the community to serve the practical needs of the people, it is not for them to join our church, it is because we believe Jesus would do the same, because He loves them, and so should we. If you know of a practical need in our community, please share it with us, and take the initiative to meet those needs in Jesus name.
Jesus said
"A new command I give you:
L o v e o n e a n o t h e r.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
