Greeter Team
Facilitated by Rosemary Manint
Be the friendly face of Northshore. Welcome visitors and regular attenders by letting them know how glad we are that they chose to join us for worship. Help newcomers find a place for their children, our restroom facilities or a quick snack and cup of coffee before they enter the Worship Center.
Usher Team
Facilitated by Tom Holden
Open the door and welcome each person who enters the Worship Center. Let visitors know where they can find a seat and escort families and individuals to an open seat when the house lights are off. Ushers also help receive tithes and offerings during our time of Worship Through Giving.
Parking Lot Team
Facilitated by Robbie Robertson
Work with the Parking Team to direct the flow of traffic in the parking lot and help visitors and regular attenders quickly and efficiently maneuver into a parking place. Greet families and individuals as they get out of their cars and make their way to the door. You're the first face they see, so the first impression visitors have of Northshore is up to you. Make sure visitors make it to the entrance and introduce them to one of our greeters.
Prayer Team
Facilitated by Rosemary Manint
We pray often. We pray regularly. We pray with others who understand the need for prayer. We encourage the congregation to join with us. While our entire church family is lifted up, we give special consideration to those who turn in prayer requests. We receive requests through email, phone calls, and prayer cards collected each Sunday. Our prayer chain operates through an email forum with a list of people who have agreed to receive intercessory prayer needs. We resist the temptation to gossip and ask ourselves if the extra we might know will build the person up. Sensitivity and respect are of the utmost importance and are at the core of the prayer team.
Children's Ministry
Facilitated by Darla Nave
On Sunday mornings this is where kids ages 5 through 5th grade learn to trust God, make wise choices, and lasting friendships. We believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be loud, and good leaders always care. Interested in storytelling, singing, leading games, scripture memorization, or crafts? Any special skills that would enrich the lives of our children? For the protection of our little ones, background checks and covenant membership are required to serve in the Children's Ministry.
Youth Ministry
Facilitated by Bob Magruder
We are always looking for servants to supply a helping hand. We provide a weekly teaching environment for 6th-12th grade students that meet Wednesdays at 6:30p. Each week students experience a mixture of worship, games, a challenging talk, and most importantly, interaction with our Father and each other. Interested in acting, singing, or playing in a band? Any special skills that would fit into youth ministry?
Administration Team
Facilitated by Jay Victory
Numbers, numbers, numbers! The Admin team is all about numbers. Volunteers on this team perform such duties as collecting and counting the offering and making the weekly deposits, counting attendance in Sunday services, and helping to formulate reports for monthly meetings. We need those gifted in these areas so that our church can operate effectively.
Women’s Ministry - W.O.W. (Women Of the Word)
Facilitated by Christie Palmer & Kristy Beckendorf
Our ladies meet for monthly activities and are constantly looking for inspiration to keep the ministry alive and growing. If you enjoy a great fellowship, have fun with new and fresh ideas, hop on board and help minister to each other and to the many needs women have. A love for the Lord, a servant’s heart, and willingness are all that is required.
Net Group Ministry
Facilitated by Jay Victory & Bobo Newton
Net Groups are a part of Northshore Church’s desire to connect disconnected people to the body of Christ. Each Net group is a small group made up of about 12 people that meet weekly to discuss the most recent sermon topic in more detail, pray together, fellowship, and share life with one another. Connectivity!! That’s what Net Groups are all about! In order for our Net groups to be most effective, we need volunteers to serve as host homes, bring snacks, organize prayer request, and more. Sign-up and get connected!
Creative Arts at Northshore
At Northshore, we’ve always believed in engaging culture in ways that are relevant and sharing the Good News about Christ so that His message is clearly understood. As the church we have the most awe inspiring, life changing message the world has ever seen, and it is our responsibility to communicate that message to the church of the 21st century! As a result of this God sized goal, the Creative Arts Ministry was developed to find ways of communicating Christ with creative passion to a world of people who desperately need to hear the Gospel. But hearing isn’t where it ends. To reach today’s culture, the church has to engage
the senses and appeal to people on an emotional, intellectual and spiritual level. Hollywood has poor stories which are told extremely well. It’s time for the church to start telling the story of God, and to tell it well. This is where you come in! The Biblical definition of the church, the Body of Christ, is us! It’s the people of the Christian community, let’s get specific - it’s the people of Northshore Church. If God has gifted you with creative talent, He has gifted you that way for a purpose. That purpose is to use your gifts and talents in a local church body, like Northshore. If you’re feeling led to participate in the Creative Arts Ministry or any of the ministries at Northshore, I encourage you to pray through your decision and seek God’s guidance on where you should plug in. I am praying for you too. So if you think you’d like to get involved on one of the Creative Arts teams, I’d like to share with you the purpose, motivation and vision of the entire Worship Arts Ministry:
Our Purpose: To make streamlined, purposeful use of teaching, music and media arts in our church so that we will be more effective in reaching and teaching God’s people.
Motivation: The want to give God our all and our best, to glorify Him through caring about quality and striving for excellence because He deserves nothing less from our lives and ministries, because He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ.
Vision: To create a collaboration of ministries that integrates teaching, music, media and art in our service venues so that the Gospel is presented in clear and moving terms, creating a lasting worship experience that allows a person to fully engage with God and be changed through that interaction.
Creative Arts at Norhshore are divided into several production teams:
Lighting, Sound, Video, Creative Writing, Dramatic Arts, Visual & Ambient Arts
So if you’re interested in getting involved in the Creative Arts ministry using your creative talents in the church, I’d love to talk about how you feel God is leading you to take part. Contact Travis to get connected and start sharing your creative spark!
